Experience the power of the written word—spoken! New for 2015, Orange Island Arts Foundation hosts Sunday Salon South Florida, your local installation of a nationwide monthly reading series featuring critically acclaimed writers of all literary genres at Fort Lauderdale’s Undergrounds Coffee Haus. Held one Sunday night every other month, Sunday Salon South Florida will include exclusive author meet-and-greets and Q&A sessions that allow you to get up close and personal with your favorite wordsmiths. There’s nothing else like it in South Florida!
Our parent series, Sunday Salon, is both an online magazine and a larger-than-life reading series showcasing a refreshing blend of local and international literary voices. Sunday Salon was originally founded by Nita Noveno in the summer of 2002 and is based in New York City. The intimate format made the program a smash hit, and Sunday Salon quickly swept through the Midwest to Chicago in 2006. In 2007, Sunday Salon launched an online zine to showcase the prose of its alumni and up-and-coming writers. From there, it traveled from Nairobi, Kenya, and now to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Sunday Salon South Florida takes place one Sunday every other month alternating between Fort Lauderdale and soon to be established Miami, Florida.
